Go to your Outlook folder in Explorer.
  • Highlight all files ending in ".pst".

Outlook Express Error 0x80004005

If you encounter this error when signing in, please install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger from http://get.live.com/messenger/overview
"Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later 0x80004005"
The Microsoft .NET Passport account is blocked by the .NET Messenger Service because the computer may be running a third-party (non-Microsoft) program that is not licensed by Microsoft. This is a violation of the MSN Messenger Terms of Use..To fix this, you have to request that your email address be unblocked from MSN Messenger. This is a one time deal and you can only be un-blocked from the messenger service once so make sure that you have removed any offending software add-on's before asking
You can either contact msn if you have a paying msn account 1-800-635-7019 or go to http://messenger.msn.com/Help/ContactUs.aspx for non paying customers and request that the account be unblocked.

Outlook Express Error Unable to Send A Message

Click View | CurrentView and be sure it is set to "Show All Messages". Also verify that "Show replies to my messages" is not checked. If you then see the unsent message you can delete it normally. You should then click File | Folder| Compact. If the Current View setting is correct, then the "Outbox.dbx" file has been damaged. To repair the Outbox, close Outlook Express and delete "Outbox.dbx" in your store folder. A new Outbox will be created automatically when you re-open Outlook Express.

Outlook Express Error - Keeps Downloading the Same Messages

If your POP3 mail account is configured to "leave a copy of messages on the server" under Tools | Accounts | | Properties | Advanced,it sometimes happens that OE downloads the same messages each time you send and receive. This is caused by a damaged "Pop3uidl.dbx" file in your Identity's store folder. This file keeps track of which messages on the server have already been downloaded and should therefore be skipped
on subsequent downloads. To fix the problem, simply delete the "Pop3uidl.dbx" file. The next time you check for mail, all the messages on the server will be downloaded again, but a new "Pop3uidl.dbx" will be created that should work properly on subsequent mail checks. If you are seeing duplicate messages on a Hotmail or IMAP account, this solution will not work because those types of accounts do not use the "Pop3uidl.dbx" file. However there is a simple solution for both Hotmail and IMAP.
