MSN Messenger Error 80072efd

Sorry, we were unable to sign you into Windows Live Messenger at this time. Please try again later.
Error code: 80072efd

Error code 80072efd indicates that there is a problem with the .NET Messenger service, one or more servers might be down or having problems.Typically this does not take longer than a few hours. To be sure that things are OK on your side verify that your proxy settings are correct by going to Tools->Options->Connection->Advanced Settings. If you do not use a proxy server, uncheck all the checkboxes except for the one labeled TCP.Close Messenger and open it up again and try connecting.
In Internet Explorer: click Tools-> Internet Options, select the "connections" tab.Uncheck "Use a proxy server for LAN" and check "Automatically detect settings". This configures Internet Explorer and Messenger to automatically find the best way to connect to the internet. If this does not resolve the problem,it is likely that the Windows digital signatures system is damaged.Resolve it by re-registering the DLL files. Here's how

Open a Run window by clicking start, then Run (or hold down the Windows key + R). Now, type the following command and press enter:
regsvr32 softpub.dll Wintrust.dll Initpki.dll Rsaenh.dll Mssip32.dll Cryptdlg.dll
Windows XP users will need to type an extra command:
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll Gpkcsp.dll Slbcsp.dll Sccbase.dll
